State of the Schools 2026
As part of Accelerate Brevard: Chamber of Innovation's "State of" Series, the annual State of the Schools brings together business, education, government, and community leaders to gain valuable insight into the current landscape and future of education in Brevard County.
This year's program features Dr. Mark Rendell, Superintendent of Brevard Public Schools, and Dr. Phil Simpson, Vice President of Academic & Student Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at Eastern Florida State College. Together, they will provide updates on the state of K-12 and higher education, discuss the growing partnership between Brevard Public Schools and EFSC, and highlight how collaboration is strengthening the talent pipeline for our region.
Together, they will highlight student achievement, workforce development initiatives, dual enrollment opportunities, industry partnerships, and innovative programs that are helping build a stronger talent pipeline to support Brevard County's continued economic growth and competitiveness.
Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a joint question-and-answer session with both speakers.
Accelerate Brevard's "State of" Series is designed to connect the business community with the leaders and organizations shaping our region by providing timely updates on the issues, industries, and initiatives that drive Brevard County forward. State of the Schools continues this tradition by fostering meaningful conversations around education, workforce readiness, and the future of our community.
Whether you're a business leader, educator, parent, elected official, or community stakeholder, this luncheon offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from two of the region's foremost education leaders and learn how education and industry are working together to prepare the next generation for success.
