Jim graduated from Parks College of St. Louis University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Administration. Upon graduation he attended Aviation Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an Officer in the Navy.
His first assignment after Naval flight Training was in Hawaii where Jim served as Aircraft Commander flying the P-3 Anti-Submarine Warfare aircraft.
After Jim’s 6-year tour in the Navy, he then pursued an airline career. He few for 4 other airlines after the Navy and was eventually hired by United Airlines. He flew as a Captain on several airliners and after, 27 years there, retired.
