Description

Annually, the Chambers of Brevard County join together for an advocacy trip to the State Capitol in Tallahassee, open to all individuals, organizations, and leaders interested in creating a positive future for Florida’s Space Coast!

This two-day trip includes the opportunity to hear from state policymakers and key individuals in the legislative process. Attendees will also have an opportunity to tour various Tallahassee landmarks and witness the legislature in action. The trip also includes participation in the Brevard Day festivities. 

Seats are limited (50 total) and include transportation via charter bus, most meals, hotel accommodations, meetings, and admission to the Brevard Day events. Meeting attendance (without bus transportation or lodging) is also available.

Wednesday, March 12th 

11:30am - Arrival of Registered Advocates & Check-In/Board Bus 

12:00pm - Bus Departure from Viera/Rockledge area 

5:30pm - Arrival in Tallahassee 

6:00pm - Welcome Reception @ Charlie Park 

7:30pm - Bus Departure from Reception to Hotel (Hyatt House, 1100 Railroad Ave) 

Thursday, March 13th 

6:30-7:30am - Complimentary Breakfast (for hotel guests only) at Hotel & Check-Out 

7:45am - Departure from Hotel to Florida Capitol Complex 

8:00am - Arrival at Florida Capitol Complex 

8:15am - Tour of Florida Senate Chamber 9:00am - Group Photo of Advocates on Capitol Steps 

9:15am - Welcome Remarks & Brevard County Legislative Delegation Members Remarks 

10:30am - Guest Speaker (TBD) 

11:00am - Boxed Lunch in Historic Capitol Building & Guest Speaker (TBD)

12:00pm - Advocacy: Scheduled/Assigned Meetings with Legislators & Staff, Observe Committee Hearings and Session 

2:15pm - Advocates Meet at Bus Pick-Up Location 

2:30pm - Bus Departs Tallahassee for Melbourne 

8:00pm - Arrival in Melbourne (Viera/Rockledge area)
