Concert Showcase orf Our 2026 Scholarship Winners

Sunday, April 12, 2026 (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Celebrate the Future of Jazz!
The Space Coast Jazz Society is proud to invest in the future of jazz. Through our scholarship program, we nurture the next generation of talented musicians by providing resources that support their education and artistic growth.
This year, we are honored to award two $1,000 scholarships. Join us for a special afternoon as our scholarship recipients take the stage to showcase their extraordinary talent.
The concert will open with an exciting first set by Ron Teixeira and his trio. Following their performance, the scholarship winners will be announced and invited to perform with the band, giving the audience a unique opportunity to experience these rising stars in a live jazz setting.
Ron Teixeira brings more than 20 years of performance experience to the stage. He has appeared in New York City’s Midtown hotels and numerous renowned jazz venues, sharing the stage with celebrated musicians such as Frank Morgan, Bert Francis, Larry Coryell, Nancy Kelly, Pat Martino, Ira Sullivan, and many other nationally and internationally recognized jazz artists.
A Cocoa Beach, Florida native, Ron attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Composition. For many years, he has performed as part of the house trio at the renowned Heidi’s Jazz Club in Cocoa Beach. In addition to performing, Ron is a dedicated jazz piano instructor, mentoring students and contributing to the local jazz community.
General admission is paid at the door. $30 for members of the Jazz Society & the Veterans Memorial Center. $35 for guests. Students are free. Bring a snack & drinks if you'd like. Tables, chairs & a beautiful view of the river provided.
